Ninja Assassin reviewFirst of all, I was NOT expecting as much gore as that movie had. And that movie had pieces of pieces of people. There was LOTS of blood and though it was all computer generated, it wasn't bad. I got used to it pretty easily. The blood was similar to the movie 300 but much more blood. During the middle of the movie it was when I realized that all of the computer generated blood and swishy swishness of the weapons were used to highlight and not to look cool. Many of the fights were in the shadows. Literally. If the movie were to go without the computer generations, there would have been many things that could have been missed or unseen during the fights. The main character wasn't the one-man-army type either. Though he killed most of the ninjas, he usually came out of the fights torn up like a shitty paper towel(use Brawny ;3). The movie trailer did NOT do the movie any justice(and the trailer was awesome. and I'm being serious). Many of the things shown in the trailer were slowed down.
The only things I didn't like about the movie was the surprising amount of gore from the beginning of the movie when after seeing the trailer, you would have assumed almost no gore. IT-WAS-GORY. PIECES of people I tell you! That doesn't mean somebody getting sliced in two. That means somebody getting sliced into PIECES. I also didn't like the random whispers that were heard whenever ninjas were stealthing about.
Overall, this movie is Shiroune approved. I recommend this movie whether you even like ninjas or not. There was plenty of ass-kickery and oh-s***-did-you-see-that? material.
